Quick and Easy Scarf

Skill Level: Beginner

You’ll likely be able to complete this classy scarf in just one sitting! It’s definitely Quick and Easy, thanks to the simple Half Double Crochet stitches and Super Bulky yarn. It’s easier than you might think to add ridges for texture, and (in my opinion) they add a lot to what would otherwise be a very simple scarf.

You can easily adjust this pattern to change the length and width of your scarf, and this pattern is beautiful in a variety of yarn weights (just make sure to use the appropriate hook size that your yarn calls for).

Whether you’re stitching something pretty for yourself or need a quick homemade gift, I hope you enjoy this pattern!

Also, a quick thank you to Knit Cozy Yarn Shop for allowing me to take some photos of this scarf in their beautiful space! You can check out Knit Cozy’s beautiful products and amazing upcoming classes here!

The Pattern!

Below you’ll find the written instructions for my Quick and Easy Scarf. Before you begin, you should know that to adjust the length, just remove or add chains when making your foundation row. You can use any number of chains you’d like! To adjust the width of the scarf, simply stop at fewer rows or continue on until the scarf is as lovely and wide as you want it to be! Easy!

Pattern Abbreviations:

ch = Chain

BLO = Back Loop Only

hdc = Half Double Crochet

st = Stitch

Chain 145.

Row 1 Hdc in 2nd ch from hook and in every ch across to end of the row.

Rows 2 - 7 Ch 1, turn. Working in BLO, hdc in 1st st and every st across to end of row.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

And that’s all there is to it!

If you use my pattern, please tag me on social media if you share photos of your finished or in-progress blanket there! I’d love to share your work in my stories and see how things are coming along for you! Happy hooking!
